SDT Ultrasonic Learning Lab

A standout feature of every International Maintenance Conference is the SDT Ultrasound Learning Lab.

This year it is located right on the Expo Floor across from the Cyber Cafe. Once inside you have the opportunity to put your hands on the finest ultrasound equipment in the world and ask questions from some of the smartest ultrasound trainers there are.

At the forefront of this year's lab is the launching of the SDT270, the Evolution of Ultrasound. The learning lab gives you the opportunity to get hands-on with this innovative measurement instrument and it's companion software Ultranalysis Suite.

Learn about acoustic lubrication, compressed air leak detection, steam trap monitoring, collecting static and dynamic data on rotating and non-rotating machines, electrical inspections, ultrasonic database creation, recording ultrasound wave files properly, and much more.

Gary Wiggins is an integral member of the condition monitoring team at Alcoa, Mt. Holly, SC. He is a Level III Thermographer, Level 1 Vibration and Ultrasound Analyst. He played a fundamental role in the creation of mechanical surveys in the plant and electrical surveys in the switchyard while developing an interesting method for tracking compressed air leaks.
